Hi, I'm Kari Rambo, president, Hudson Hospital Foundation.
This is the third blog in a series highlighting giving opportunities and how our employees have made a difference in supporting our mission to improve health and well-being in partnership with our members, patients and community.
Our campus employees contributed over $26,000 to the Hudson Hospital Foundation for program development, education, and endowment. We are proud to have generous donors who believe in investing back into the organization to make good happen. Here’s a couple of examples of how our staff Make Good Happen for our patients, visitors and the community:
Emergency Care Fund
Another location that our employees with young hearts decided to invest their pediatric charitable funds was in the Emergency Center. One new and improved exam room has been outfitted to a Packer/Viking friendly environment. Large adhesive decals of helmets, footballs and logos were placed on the walls as a needed distraction for our youth receiving emergency services. Our Emergency Center Manager, Kevin Klementz, also claimed it’s a good distraction for our adult fans as well.
Heart Care Fund
Heart care employee donors hosted, “Strong Heart – Happy Life” a free health event on February 25 from 5-7 p.m. at the Hudson Hospital & Clinic medical office building. Activities included health tips from the experts, blood pressure checks, smoking cessation information, heart healthy nutrition guidelines, fitness and wellness opportunities and more. Healthy snacks and infused water was served. Free pedometers were given to attendees and there was a Fitbit giveaway to two lucky winners. This fun event informed our community about heart health and how to make better choices for a Strong Heart – Happy Life.
Employee Emergency Fund
The donor group in charge of the Employee Emergency fund wanted to invigorate the fund and offer something new. Not only did the fund support seven campus colleagues, but the team is exploring another component to the fund called, “Pay It Forward,” where the Foundation would provide smaller emergency gift cards to both Hudson Hospital & Clinic employees and Hudson Physicians employees.
Watch for my last blog in the series highlighting employee donations to the Foundation funds: Cancer Care, Programs for Change and Healing Arts Fund.
