Make Car Seat Safety a Priority – car seat safety clinic May 12
Wednesday, May 7, 2014
Hi, I'm Heidi Hoschka, RN, trauma prevention coordinator at Hudson Hospital Emergency Center. Welcome to my blog!
Did you know? Nine out of 10 child car seats are installed or used incorrectly posing a threat to your child’s safety in the event of a car accident. Keeping your child safe is the number one priority as a parent, including while you’re on the go. Proper use of car seats helps keep children safe, but with so many different car seats on the market, it’s no wonder many parents find this overwhelming. Active lifestyles today require responsible vehicle safety, and this includes having your child car seat checked to ensure it meets proper safety regulations.
Plan to attend!
Hudson Hospital & Clinic is sponsoring a free Car Seat Safety Clinic – Monday, May 12
Attend this car seat safety clinic Monday, May 12 from 4-7 p.m. at Hudson Hospital & Clinic in the maintenance garage (next to the hospital). Follow the signs for deliveries back to the garage. This event is sponsored by West Central Regional Trauma Advisory Council, Regions Hospital and Hudson Hospital Emergency Center.
During this free clinic, certified child passenger safety technicians will evaluate your car seats for defects, recalls, suitability for the age and size of the child, and fit with the safety belt system in your vehicle. Parents and caregivers are asked to bring the car seat and the child who uses the seat to achieve the best possible fit.
Registration is required. A limited number of 30-minute appointments are available. Call (715) 531-6543 for your appointment and further directions. *Please bring with you: car seat, car seat manual, and vehicle manual, child that will use the seat, and plan on 30 minutes per seat, per vehicle.
