Hi, I'm Patty Schank, RN, nurse manager, Surgery and Procedure Center, Hudson Hospital & Clinic. Welcome to my blog!
Our HealthPartners Make Good Happen campaign in January is featuring primary and preventive care.
Did you know?
Hudson Hospital Procedure Center broke a record for GI procedures in 2014 with more than 1000 Colonoscopy and EGD procedures. With the opening of our new Medical Office Building and the NEW Procedure Center, we are able to complete more procedures in a day. We now have 2 rooms which improves the efficiency for the physicians and provides better access for our patients. Learn more about our Procedure Center.
Are you age 50 or older, or have a close relative with colon cancer?
If your answer is YES, then it’s time to make that appointment to come see us! Colonoscopy is the primary screening test for colon cancer.
- Adults should be screened for colon cancer starting at age 50.
- Adults with a family history of a first degree relative (parent, sibling) with colon cancer diagnosed younger than age 60 should have their first colonoscopy at age 40 years or 10 years younger than the age at diagnosis of the youngest affected relative and should be screened every 5 years.
Did you know? 1 in 20 Americans will be diagnosed with colon cancer in their lifetime. Luckily, it’s highly treatable when caught early. Talk to your doctor about when to start colon cancer screenings.
Don’t wait! Talk to your Primary Care provider today and get your colonoscopy scheduled!
