Hudson Hospital Foundation and Christian Community Homes of Hudson, WI recently partnered with the St. Croix Valley Foundation to host, “The Remember Project” which consists of three one-act plays about memory care. All plays are free to the public.
“Steering into the Skid,” was the first performance at Hudson Hospital & Clinic on September 16. The audience of over 60 guests watched a dramatic 12 month journey of a loving couple slowly experiencing signs of dementia. At various times there was laughter, sadness, and peaks of hope shared throughout the room which was exactly the intent of the performance.
The plays were produced and performed by a small, professional, traveling cast that will visit various community centers, churches, care centers, and schools throughout the St. Croix Valley. The plays are free to the public and followed by a facilitated conversation with the audience about how our communities can become more dementia-friendly.
The next performances in Hudson will start at 6:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- “Riding the Wave” – Tuesday, October 13 at Bethel Highlands Church
- “In the Garden” – Wednesday, November 18 at The Phipps Center
All are encouraged to attend. Please rsvp on Christian Community Home’s webpage: http://cch-hudson.org/events/
