Living a healthy lifestyle isn't complicated - it just requires a commitment. For example, my personal commitment to staying healthy includes daily choices. I rode my bike to work this morning after a breakfast of fruit, whole grain cereal and almonds. I’ll have a salad for lunch and lots of fruits and veggies for supper. I avoid all tobacco products and tobacco smoke, and I don’t drink and drive.
Studies around the world repeatedly find that 5 behaviors—healthy diet, adequate physical activity, no tobacco, limited alcohol, and healthy thinking patterns—are associated with healthfulness and happiness. We also know that communities can show a commitment to help residents stay healthier. Recently, Healthier Together - St. Croix County received a Transform Wisconsin Impact Grant to help increase physicial activity in our communities.
