Programs for Change
Chemical Addiction Recovery
How often have we heard someone say, “I don’t have a problem?” Drinking and/or drug abuse can develop into a significant problem when it causes trouble in one’s relationships, in school, in social activities, or in how one thinks and feels. Often times, life becomes unmanageable and intervention is necessary.
Hudson Hospital’s Programs for Change is a behavioral health treatment program addressing alcohol and substance abuse issues for individuals and families. Offering a safe place to explore difficult issues, this program supports participants as they make sustainable changes in an effort to live a healthy, chemical-free lifestyle.
Using a variety of techniques and therapeutic models, the staff of Programs for Change assists individuals to better manage their lives and choices made. People experiencing limitations and consequences stemming from addictions and self-control problems find answers participating in this program. Positive attitudes and compassionate care are extended by staff as encouragement to these individuals struggling to attain success in all aspects of life.
Options Available
There are three main programs offered for alcohol and substance abuse treatment: Intensive Outpatient Treatment, Aftercare Program and Adolescent Insights. These programs begin with a comprehensive assessment resulting in recommendations for improved living and treatment options when appropriate.
- Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) is a therapeutic, educational and supportive program. IOP meets three times a week and is typically 20 sessions in length. Family members are also welcome and encouraged to attend these sessions.
- The Aftercare Program focuses on deepening the individual’s commitment to recovery and learning to manage their disease to assure an optimal lifestyle. Participants are encouraged to also attend community support groups.
- Adolescent Insights is a one-day, seven-hour education program for the underage drinker and other drug abuser and is designed to explore attitudes and issues regarding alcohol, drugs, stress, and choices of young people. Adolescent Insights assists in forging the value system that will support young peoples’ lives. Use of lecture and multimedia presentation is combined with interactive discussion, self-evaluation and abuse prevention planning.
