Enjoy learning about your own fitness and wellness needs through a one hour, one-to-one assessment with our trained staff. A personalized Well-being Assessment will help you explore your current fitness and leisure activities, as well as define goals for personal improvement and well-being. Our staff will also help you decide which activities are right for you, and provide insight into fitness and wellness activities in our community.
Whether you exercise regularly or have not exercised since high school gym class, a Well-being Assessment may be right for you. Our trained staff understands the impact of fitness upon your overall wellness, and can help you design an activity program unique to your needs and abilities. Moreover, our staff understands the effects of aging and many chronic diseases such as diabetes, congestive heart failure or arthritis, as well as conditions like Parkinson’s Disease or Multiple Sclerosis. Our medically based clinicians can help reduce your risk of injury with fitness activity, and partner with you to make goals that are realistic and meaningful.
A Well-being Assessment begins with a one-hour appointment with a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or an Exercise Physiologist. These clinicians administer an assessment that will review your fitness abilities, nutrition, quality of life and life factors such as your home or work demands. The Assessment may identify other needs beyond the scope of the Rehabilitation Center, such as nutritional counseling, smoking cessation or other services. Your clinician will help you access those services, if you choose. Our staff may recommend follow up with your physician, or referral to formal therapy services if an injury or serious condition is identified.
The Assessment will help you define both a personal and a clinical fitness goal as well as a program to help you achieve those goals. Depending on your needs, your individualized program may include fitness programming provided through Hudson Hospital and Clinic, or other facilities within the Hudson community. All Well-being Assessment participants may schedule a free, 30 minute follow up appointment after participating in a program for at least 6 weeks, to talk about their progress and celebrate their achievements!
