Vascular surgery is a specialty in which diseases of the vascular system, or arteries and veins, are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction.
Some diseases managed through Dr. Barbato include aneurysms, carotid artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, renal and mesenteric disease, varicose vein and other venous diseases, wound care, and dialysis access.
Vascular surgeons offer an advanced approach to the evalution, diagnosis, and treatment of vascular disease. Vascular disease is any illness or injury that affects the circulatory system. Age, hereditary factors and certain lifestyle behaviors may cause arteries to narrow or clog and become unable to circulate oxygen-rich blood throughout the body. Learn more about Vascular Surgery.
