About Hudson Health Foundation

The Hudson Health Foundation is a local non-profit organization which has served our community for over 25 years by raising funds to support the Hudson Hospital, as well as other community health related projects. A few of the projects are: Lifeline units (see Lifeline Program on this page), diagnostic radiography and surgical equipment, two handicap-equipped vans to transport patients to and from the Health Campus. The Foundation also sponsors two annual $2,000 two-year scholarships to two Hudson High School senior students who will be focusing on health care careers in college. In the past quarter century, over $1,200,000 has been donated and used to the benefit of
our community.
Over the years, many individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations have given gifts to the Health Foundation. Their generous support provides opportunities for compassionate care, cutting-edge technology and training of the best
health professionals.
Board of Directors
Hudson Health Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of up to 15 community members including hospital and healthcare professionals.
Mission
"Caring for the Health of Our Community." The Health Foundation supports Hudson Hospital's health care programs and other services which address the mind, body and spirit of patients and their families.
We value our donors, whose gifts allow us to support important innovations in health care.

Cash: The most common ways of contributing include cash, check, or credit card donations
Stock: Gifts of appreciated securities may offer you substantial tax advantages
Paid up Life Insurance and tangible Personal Property (Real Estate)
Sponsorship opportunities are available for the annual Al Hein Hudson Health Foundation golf tournament, and the Annual Style Show which supports the hospital's oncology programs.
Planned Giving: Involves the gifting of one's assets (rather than current income) and, in most cases, involves the counsel of a financial planner and/or an estate attorney. Such gifts include will provisions, life insurance, charitable remainder trusts, charitable Lead trusts, and gifts of appreciated assets such as real estate (farms and homes). Planned gifts may help avoid or minimize capital gains, estate or other taxes.
Matching Gifts: Many employers offer their employees and retirees an opportunity to have their donations matched dollar for dollar. Check with your employer to see if your gift can be matched. It's a great way to make your gift go further.
Giving Opportunities
- Hudson Health Foundation Endowment Fund
The endowment fund is a special fund in which the assets are held and invested by the Hudson Health Foundation for the benefit of the Hudson Hospital and its programs. Only the income earned by the fund is used, while the principal remains invested to generate future income, thereby assuring a predictable source of funds for years to come. If the gift exceeds $50,000, a named endowment fund may be established. This gift can celebrate an event, such as a personal milestone, or to honor a loved one.
Donations made to the Hudson Health Foundation's Endowment Fund will be matched dollar for dollar by the St. Croix Valley Foundation under the terms of a grant awarded to the Health Foundation. Up to $70,000 will be matched between November 15, 2006 and November 15, 2009. Gifts can be cash, stock or other appreciated property. This is a perfect way to double your gift to the Health Foundation.
