Hospitalist Care
Hospitalists are specialists who provide care for hospitalized patients, from admitting to discharge. Hudson Hospital is the only hospital in western Wisconsin to provide this model of care.
Hospitalists are board-certified in internal medicine and have a focused practice in acute, inpatient care. These physicians provide much needed expertise to inpatients, while communicating with the patients' primary care physician to coordinate care.
Hospitalists are on site to provide continuous care for patients. Because they specialize in inpatient hospital care, they are up-to-date on the latest advancements and developments for hospitalized patients. By focusing on hospitalized patients, who tend to be more severely ill than outpatients, they are experienced in caring for those who are severely or chronically ill. The goal of the hospitalist care is to be primarily responsible for any care needs for the patients while they are inpatients, while serving as a partner with the patient's primary care provider back home.
Hudson Hospital & Clinics is part of the HealthPartners family of care and has a close connection and access to higher level, more acute care provided at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.
