The free event on Monday, Nov. 6, will include cooking demonstrations, samples of healthy snacks and meals, and seminars on a range of topics. The full line-up of classes is:

• Holiday meal planning: Cooking demonstration
The event, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, Minn., also offers the chance for attendees to chat with diabetes educators about blood glucose numbers, care schedules, stress and carbohydrate counting.
“One of the biggest issues with type 2 diabetes is that people blame themselves,” said Kris Orton, certified diabetes educator at Hudson Hospital & Clinic. “The goal of this event is to give people the tools they will need to take charge of their diabetes.”
Attendees can take advantage of free blood pressure checks during the event and learn more about tobacco cessation.
People wanting to attend should RSVP at healthpartnerslocalcare.org/DiabetesExpo or 651-430-4655.
