Jean Weiler, Nutrition Services Manager, Hudson Hospital & Clinic offers suggestions for making changes that can have a healthy and lifelong impact. "Making a resolution that calls for drastic, immediate changes in what you eat or how you exercise doesn't work," says Weiler. Baby steps seem to work better. Here's a few suggestions:
- Eat more fruits and vegetables - it's easier than you think
- Portion control - be aware of the portion sizes your are eating at home and at restaurants
- Online Resources - take advantage of the many resources to help you eat health including www.choosemyplate.gov
