Hudson Hospital Birth Center breaks another record
Thursday, February 28, 2013Hudson Hospital Birth Center delivered seven babies – all within a 16- hours on Monday, February 18, 2013 breaking a previous record of five babies born on Leap Day in 2012.
The day was filled with lots of activity including the birth of twins. Brian and Jennifer Koch of Brooklyn Center, MN drove the extra miles to follow OB/GYN Dennis Hartung, MD and be part of the premiere experience at the Hudson Hospital Birth Center. The Koch’s welcomed twins Sophia Lynn and Maya Christine on February 18 to their family which includes 2-year-old big sister Isabella. At 20 weeks of pregnancy an ultrasound revealed the surprise of twins; and the first set of twins for the Koch family making the event even more special. After interviewing Dr. Hartung and touring the Birth Center, they made a decision to travel to Hudson for the birth of their twins. “We choose Dr. Hartung, a specialist of non-interventive, high-risk pregnancy for our care. He was incredible and we believe he was pivotal in allowing us to avoid a C-section, which was our ultimate goal,” says Jennifer Koch. “The Birth Center nursing staff were amazing and so helpful. It was well worth the trip to Hudson.”
