On Wednesday, April 18, Hudson Hospital Emergency Center, Social Services and Respiratory Therapy staff are participating in a Hudson High School Mock Prom Crash and Mass Casualty Emergency Preparedness Exercise. The event takes place at HHS and St. Patrick Church parking lot this morning. Led by the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) high school group, this exercise is educational and appeals to the emotions and common sense of students to avoid risky behaviors (i.e. drinking and driving, texting and driving, etc…). The ambulance call is scheduled to go out at 10 a.m. The event is purposefully scheduled right before prom weekend in Hudson.
Many organizations throughout the community participate: Hudson Hospital,
HealthPartners Clinical Simulation, St. Croix EMS, Hudson Fire and Police Departments, Community Action, SADD, Restorative Justice of Hudson, and O’Connell’s Funeral Home. During the exercise emergency response crews will route mock patients to HHS auditorium where scenes will be staged for a mock Emergency Center, courtroom scene and funeral services.
