(Hudson, WI) – Hudson Hospital & Clinic has been awarded two of the most prestigious environmental achievement Awards offered by Practice Greenhealth, the nation’s leading health care community that empowers its members to increase their efficiencies and environmental stewardship while improving patient safety and care through tools, best practices and knowledge.
Hudson Hospital & Clinic was recently honored with the following awards by Practice Greenhealth:
Hudson Hospital & Clinic achieved the premiere award – the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award recognizing health care facilities that exemplify environmental excellence and are setting the highest standards for environmental practices in health care. The premier award reserved for facilities and systems exemplifying environmental excellence in health care. Award winners are chosen from hospitals that have the highest scores for the Greenhealth Emerald Award using Practice Greenhealth's thorough scoring and evaluation system. The 25 hospitals presented with Practice Greenhealth's highest honors vary greatly in size, but are all leading the country in health care sustainability and have the data and documentation to prove their success. These facilities have innovative programs and also show leadership in their local communities and in the health care sector.
“Our mission to improve the health of our members, patients and community is in direct alignment with our goals for sustainability,” said Dana Slade, Sustainability Manager, HealthPartners. “To be recognized nationally among other high-performing organizations is truly an honor, and an affirmation of the work our teams do every day.”
Hudson Hospital & Clinic has also been honored in the Top Ten in the U.S. with the Circles of Excellence Award in the area of Water for outstanding performance in health care sustainability. The top ten awards, out of over 450 applicants, called the Circles of Excellence recognizes hospitals for outstanding performance in one specific topic area determined by the highest scoring facilities in each category on the Greenhealth Partner for Change application. Hudson Hospital was recognized for the Water category. These awards highlight hospitals that push the envelope and drive innovation in sustainability performance in each sustainability category.
“Hudson Hospital & Clinic has been demonstrating leadership in our community and the healthcare industry when it comes to the way that we use water to improve the health and well-being of our members, patients, community and employees,” says Ann Ripley, Vice President Operations Hudson Hospital & Clinic, and Vice President Quality, St. Croix Valley. “We are proud to be named one of the top 10 in the country in this work, and will continue to make sustainability a top priority.”
The Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards were presented in Portland, Oregon May 14 at the CleanMed Conference & Exhibition, the premier national environmental conference for leaders in health care sustainability.
