Local design firm, Christiansen Creative and Hudson Hospital marketing team recently won multiple awards at the 2014 Wisconsin Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing Society (WHPRMS) Annual Communications Review. Winners were announced at the WHPRMS Annual Conference held September 24 – 26 at The Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI. The Communications Review is recognized by healthcare professionals in Wisconsin as a program dedicated to honoring excellence and superior accomplishment in the practice of healthcare public relations and marketing. Since its inception in 1971, the annual awards program has recognized outstanding work in the fields of media, marketing, planning, design, writing, advertising and public relations in health care.
They received the following awards:
- Social Media “Say Ahh” ENT Clinic promoted post received the WHPRMS Top Award – The Carol Mehlberg Award, The Judges Choice Award and Award of Excellence. The Carol Mehlberg Award is chosen from the Judges’ Choice Awards (top 5 awards) and most effectively demonstrates thorough planning, execution and results, as well as creativity and innovation. The award is named in honor of Carol Mehlberg, a WHPRMS member who was instrumental in establishing the Communications Review program and strengthening the organization. Mehlberg passed away in 1977, after a courageous battle with cancer.
- Video – “So What is Internal Medicine?” received an Award of Excellence achieving 95-100% overall scores. This entry demonstrated excellence in creativity, messaging, connecting with the target audience and providing education and awareness about the Internal Medicine Clinic and physicians, Dr. Emily Hall and Dr. Leslie Surbeck.
- Thrive: Empowering Your Best Health magazine – 2013 Anniversary issue printed publication – received an Award of Merit. This entry was recognized for excellence in design, planning, awareness, and promotion of strategic initiatives – IM, ENT, and Urology; as well as celebrating an anniversary milestone with the community.
“The WHPRMS Communications Review is recognized by healthcare marketing and communications professionals in Wisconsin as a program dedicated to honoring excellence and superior accomplishment in the practice of healthcare public relations and marketing,” says WHPRMS President Mike Milligan. This year’s judges were health care communicators from NESHC – New England Society for Healthcare Communications, based in Massachusetts. Judges award high marks for effective planning, strategy, implementation and measurable results.
