A visit to Hudson Hospital & Clinic these days may surprise you. Their whole health philosophy is evident both with the care you receive and the special personalized touches – healing arts decorating the campus, sculptures and beautiful gardens, the aroma of fresh baked cookies, and if you request, pet therapy to aid in your healing process. Recently, Hudson Hospital Foundation established a Board Designated Healing Arts Endowment Fund to ensure the future of our special healing environment.
The Healing Arts Endowment becomes a perpetual source of funding for the future operations of the program. The endowment fund will ensure a long-term commitment to the hospital’s healing environment which embraces many healing elements. Natural colors exhibit growth and well-being. The original artwork inspires and distracts, reducing anxiety. Music therapy soothes and offers harmony and balance. Aroma therapy evokes positive feelings and relieves tension. Pet therapy offers warmth and compassion by trained animals or cherished visits by family pets.
“The Hospital has engaged in a collaborative effort with the Phipps Center for the Arts to create an environment that addresses the needs of all who come here,” says Margaret Welshons, Healing Arts Coordinator. “To create an environment the public perceives as open and welcoming and compliments our exceptional patient care – is absolutely remarkable and we should preserve it for the future.”
For every charitable gift made to the Healing Arts Endowment Fund, the Foundation will match dollar for dollar up to $50,000. The Foundation has launched a campaign to raise funds for this effort and will share its story with any local groups who want to learn more.
