Hudson Hospital Popular Stop for State Leaders

Recent visits to Hudson Hospital by Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold (D) and Wisconsin State Congressman Ron Kind (D) demonstrate that Hudson’s growing region is high on the radar for input into health care legislation.

Both leaders visited the hospital and clinic campus in the past week to share ideas and hear about how the hospital is doing.

According to Marian Furlong, President and CEO of Hudson Hospital, “We make it a priority to partner with our local and state leaders to ensure we are able to continue to meet the growing health care needs of our region.”

Since early 2007, the Senator’s and Congressman’s offices have taken an active local role in working on behalf of Drug Endangered Children (DEC) and Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) programs. The DEC program's mission is "to promote community response to drug endangered children and to create effective strategies to rescue, defend, shelter and support them." Numerous agencies and organizations in the community are working together to align services and coordinate care for these children. The Hudson Community PAD program, in partnership with St. Croix EMS & Rescue, is a community health initiative focused on reducing time to defibrillation and increasing the chance of survival for people with heart-related emergencies.  Hudson Hospital plays a key leadership role in both these initiatives with support of leaders state-wide.

Hudson Hospital is an independent, non-profit community hospital since 1953, and is located just off Interstate I-94 in Hudson, WI.
