Scouts create Get Well Snowmen for Hudson Hospital patients

A new holiday favorite – Get Well Snowmen – arrived at Hudson Hospital & Clinics on December 13, compliments of local Cub Scout troop Pack 140, the Wolves and Bears Den. The troop visited the hospital for community service to help earn their Leadership achievement. They created a special project called Get Well Snowmen for Hudson Hospital & Clinics patients and visitors in hopes of bringing some happiness during their time at the hospital.“The response from the hospital leadership, staff and patients has been very positive,” says Scout dad, Brad Olson. The scouts gave the snowmen names including Super Snowman, Mario Snowman and even two snowdogs representing the Pet Therapy program at Hudson Hospital & Clinics.
Hospital staff provided a tour of the hospital for the scouts – with a few fun stops along the way – including the Surgery & Procedure Center where they were shown what a patient goes through to prepare for surgery. After the tour, the boys worked hard on their snowmen and then enjoyed some hot chocolate and cookies provided by Volunteer Services.
