Thank you for choosing Hudson Hospital & Clinics as your health care provider. We work hard to make your experience with us as pleasant as possible. That commitment extends to our business services.

Patient Registration and Accounting Services fall under the umbrella of Patient Financial Services. We consider it a privilege as well as a responsibility to make sure that every patient has a positive experience with our organization. Your initial registration is the first phase of your health care experience at Hudson Hospital & Clinics and billing through the Patient Accounting Services department should be your final phase. To help ensure all phases of your health care experience are positive, we would like to provide you with information about your registration and the billing services.

Patient Account Representatives

We want to ensure that you receive high quality care and service, and that your rights as a patient are respected. If anything is unclear or confusing to you about the billing of your account, a Patient Account Representative can help you resolve your questions. Patient Account Representatives are available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, to address any billing concerns you have about your stay at Hudson Hospital & Clinics. If you need to speak with a patient account representative, please call (715) 531-6200 or stop by the Information Desk in the main lobby.

Payment for Hospital and Clinics Services

All patients (or responsible parties) are required to make arrangements for payment of their bill. Health insurance coverage including Medicare or Medicaid will be filed on the patient’s behalf by the hospital business office with payment assigned to the hospital. We will also file secondary coverage, if applicable, after the primary insurance has processed your claim. You will be responsible for payment of any remaining balance. If payment is unable to be obtained using the information you supplied, the account will be automatically transferred to “self pay” and payment will be directly requested from you.

Other payment information you should note:

  • The hospital will collect co-payments as determined by your insurance carrier at the time of service. If you are seen in the Emergency Care Center, you will be provided services first and will be asked for your co-payment when your care is completed.
  • Cosmetic or elective services, which are not covered by insurance, must be paid in full in advance of the service.
  • You may receive more than one bill for services. Your physician, surgeon, radiologist, or other specialist will bill you separately.
  • Hospital bills are due in full within 30 days of billing.
  • If you are unable to pay the balance in full, we will work with you to establish a payment plan according to Hudson Hospital & Clinics payment policy. Please contact Patient Financial Services at (715) 531-6034.
  • Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards are accepted.

If You Do Not Have Health Insurance

  • All patients (or responsible parties) are required to make arrangements for payment of their bill.
  • A discount of 20 percent is available to all uninsured patients, effective January 2006.
  • The hospital will request up to 50 percent of an estimated balance at the time of service.
  • If you are unable to pay the balance in full, a payment plan must be established with Patient Financial Services by calling (715) 531-6034 during weekday business hours.
  • Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards are accepted.

Financial Assistance Opportunities

Financial help is available for patients who are unable to pay for their health care services. Applicants must meet income eligibility and asset limitation requirements. Individuals who meet the eligibility requirements and are unable to access other financial aid programs may be relieved of partial or entire hospital bill. For further information or an application, contact Patient Financial Services by calling (715) 531-6034 during weekday business hours.
