Dr. Severson graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency in Internal Medicine at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri and a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Aurora Sinai in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a Board Certified Internist. Dr. Severson plays golf, enjoys the theater and travel. 

Her rare free time home is spent baking and doing needlepoint projects. In her own words, `I adore older people and have wanted to work with the geriatric population since I decided on a medical career in seventh grade.`
