Would you like to give back to the community and receive just as much in return?  Hudson Hospital & Clinics is a great place to do just that. You can volunteer in a number of areas and in doing so contribute to the health of our community.

Hudson Hospital & Clinics has volunteer opportunities in more than 35 departments and programs. You will join a team of over 170 volunteers who in 2009 contributed over 14,000 volunteer hours!


As a volunteer, you will meet new people, gain new experiences and help in delivering exceptional care in a healing environment!


Volunteers work in a variety of departments listed below. At this time we are not accepting volunteer applications. Thank you for your interest and please check back periodically as there may be openings in the fall.

How can I become a volunteer?

  • Age: Volunteer applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Commitment: Due to extensive prescreening and training, we respectfully ask for at least a six month commitment.
  • Interview: An interview will be conducted to explore talents and interests to create the most rewarding experience for you while volunteering.
  • Screening:
    • A criminal background check will be completed
    • General health review
      • Two step Mantoux is conducted to test for your exposure to tuberculosis (TB).
      • Blood draw is done to screen for your immunity to childhood diseases and Hepatitis B.
  • Hospital Training: Each volunteer must be trained in the department they will be volunteering with and be familiar with the orientation packet provided; which includes information on safety practices, privacy requirements and general policies and procedures for the hospital.


Benefits of being a volunteer include:

  • Free beverage while volunteering
  • Free meal if you volunteer for 3 hours or more
  • 10% discount at the Alcove Gift Shop
  • 10% discount off prescriptions (up to $3) at our pharmacy. Over the counter not included.
  • Fitness Center membership for $10 a month ($20 initiation fee)
  • Invitation to events that take place here at the hospital.
